VegfestUK Scotland 2016: Take some time to relax

Posted by Kim on 30/11/16 in VfL News and Events

After a busy day indulging your taste buds with all the exciting foods on offer, and your mind with so many thought-provoking talks, take some time to indulge your body. Visit the Mature Zone and relax with our end-of-day yoga sessions, kindly sponsored by Heart Space Dundee.

Yoga is an ancient form of exercise that focuses on strength, flexibility and breathing to boost physical and mental wellbeing. The main components of yoga are postures (a series of movements designed to increase strength and flexibility) and breathing.

On Saturday at 5pm Erin Kenny will teach a class designed to strengthen, stretch and unwind tight areas in the body. And on Sunday at 4pm, Rachel Smith will use her own unique blend of enthusiasm, compassion and positivity to help you to create space in your body and make you feel great.

Of course, you may like to clear your mind before the day starts, in which case, meditation may be just right for you. Meditation is time taken for quiet reflection and silence, away from the hustle and bustle of daily living. It is the journey inwards; a journey of self-discovery or re-discovery. Rose Goodenough will be running a Raja Yoga Meditation (or ‘open eyes’) class at 11am on Sunday. Come along and start the day by giving your inner self a bit of TLC.

The Mature Zone will be at VegfestUK Scotland at SECC Glasgow on 3 and 4 December 2016. See Floor Plan here. Proudly curated and hosted by VfL, the Mature Zone is the go-to-place for all aspects of veganism in later life.
