Introducing our new Freelance Roving Chef

Posted by Amanda on 02/06/15 in VfL News and Events

We are pleased to introduce our new Freelance Roving Chef, Jane Hughes. Jane’s new role will include carrying out cookery demonstrations at events, for groups of older people, and in care homes, to promote and support vegetarian and vegan lifestyles.
Jane was Editor of The Vegetarian magazine for 14 years and a senior tutor at the Vegetarian Society’s Cordon Vert Cookery School. She has written eight books on vegetarianism and veganism, including The Vegetarian Year, which is newly published in the UK and USA. Jane’s experience includes presenting cookery demonstrations at Vegfest Olympia, creating recipes for The Vegan Society, Love Food Hate Waste and the Hospital Caterers Association, and acting as a judge-coordinator for the Great Taste Awards. Says Jane:
I’m delighted to be working with Vegetarian For Life – it’s a great opportunity to use my experience to help senior vegetarians and vegans. There’s a lot of job satisfaction to be had from knowing I’m helping to improve things for older people, and as VfL continues to grow and develop, it’s good to know my skills will be put to good use.
