Nibbles by the Nith

In Dumfries we are fortunate to have the lovely Robert Burns Centre in a converted mill right beside the very scenic River Nith. If you are very lucky you might see an otter while eating lunch like I did!
The Centre has an excellent small movie theatre that does coffee and cake inclusive with the movie for us silver screeners. It also houses the very good Hullabaloo restaurant upstairs. The food here is always quite adventurous and freshly cooked and they are usually very happy to amend a dish to suit awkward customers like myself.  We went recently to see Mr Holmes and ended up staying for lunch. Tom, my husband, had a tasty quinoa and walnut burger with salad and all the trimmings and I had a smoked applewood melt with yummy wedges. Both were delicious but sadly this time we had no room or time for their delicious desserts!
