Introducing our new Director for Wales

Posted by Amanda on 02/02/15 in VfL News and Events

We're delighted to introduce our newest member of staff, Mike Ashbridge, who joins us as our Director for Wales.
Mike worked for many years as an investment analyst and fund manager in the City of London. Over time, he developed a wide range of financial and marketing skills in his role as a director of an investment bank. After leaving the City in 2000, and subsequently moving to Pembrokeshire, he was able to concentrate on causes and work that were close to his heart. He worked as a volunteer in a hospice and then became Fundraising Coordinator for Wales Air Ambulance in Pembrokeshire. During this time he forged strong links with the local media and community and also initiated many new fundraising ventures. He supports a number of vegetarian and animal rescue charities and also leads humanist ceremonies in West Wales. Mike believes that the work of VfL is incredibly important:
Offering older vegetarian and vegans an appropriate and varied diet is not only about respecting their choices but it is also an intrinsic measure of how we as a society value and care for our elderly. For this reason, I hope that through my commitment and skills I can increase awareness of the charity’s work.
