Curry Sauce for Channa Daal

Ingredients

  • 2–3 tbsp vegetable oil or low-cal oil spray
  • 1 small onion
  • 1 green pepper
  • 1 tomato
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tsp turmeric
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp curry powder
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

1. Heat the vegetable oil in a small saucepan.

2. Chop the onion, green pepper and tomato and add to the pan.

3. Add the tomato paste, turmeric, black pepper, curry powder, and salt, to taste. Mix the ingredients with a wooden spoon.

4. Turn down the heat and let it simmer for 10–15 minutes.

5. Pour the ingredients into a blender and give it a good mix until the mixture turns into a sauce. Place the sauce in a small bowl and set aside.
