Vegetarian for Life

Lovely Loch Arthur

Loch Arthur Camphill Community is a shared way of life in a modern rural community.  There are nine households where more than 70 people live. The community has a farm, a large garden, a creamery, a bakery, wood and weaving workshops and a fabulous cafe and shop where the majority of the produce is organic and much of it is vegetarian (though they do sell free-range meat).
The working community exists to support men and women with learning difficulties and it has a really nice supportive atmosphere. We often pop into the cafe, which has a lovely setting with lots of wild plants and birds; very unspoiled. The food choice is not huge but the quality is always good, usually a couple of veggie soups and some salads, maybe a ricotta and chard pie or a savoury vegetable tart and some nice scones and cakes including the best bread and butter pudding you are likely to taste.  Unfortunately you can also buy the tarts and cakes to take away so a visit to Loch Arthur, in the delightful village of Beeswing, always costs me a small fortune!
