VfL Roving Chef Alex is currently hosting a series of cookery courses at the Sunshine Community Cafe in Sale, Greater Manchester.

The café is part of the Sale West Community Centre, and Alex is delivering four cookery sessions for its members thanks to a grant from Sale West Community Fund. In his first session, Alex delivered a hands-on lesson, which included warming veggie dishes: hot pot and Pad Thai.
“The aim of the course is to promote healthy eating and greater knowledge cooking techniques,” Alex said. “And it's also a great opportunity for people to meet up and share time together.”
Following the session, the attendees enjoy the results of their lesson, and eat lunch together at the community centre.
Alex says places are still available on the course, but because of funding restrictions these are open to people that live, work or care for people in the Sale West area.
“The first sessions have been lots of fun,” Alex says, “and we're looking forward to cooking more fantastic veggie food together.”
