A full house for Chef Ollie’s return to Stanborough Seniors

More than 100 people came to watch a cookery demonstration by Vegetarian for Life Roving Chef Ollie recently, when he returned to Stanborough Seniors.

The Stanborough Park Seventh-day Adventist Church in Watford hosts an active Seniors Group, which formerly met fortnightly on Monday afternoons to provide community, fellowship, and special events for older members. The church, located on St Albans Road, focuses on serving the local community, including hosting tea concerts, musical events and guest speakers.

Ollie took the stage in front of a full house to wow the audience with imaginative and innovative recipes. On the menu were a veggie variation to the classic American chunky 'clam' chowder, served with with flatbreads and followed by sumptuous and healthy chocolate avocado pudding.

Following his demonstration, the organiser told Ollie: “I feel fairly sure you don't need me to tell you that the members loved you and found your demonstration inspiring, but they also warmed to you as a person.”
