Sharing skills in the kitchen with Trafford Carers

Posted by Alex on 03/02/26 in VfL News and Events

Vegetarian for Life Roving Chef Alex will deliver a series of healthy cookery courses for carers in the Trafford area, beginning this month. Each course has 8 places and will last for 4 weeks. The first of the courses started on 3 February.

“It is great to be given the opportunity to work with Trafford Carers Centre,” says Alex. “I look forward to cooking together. I hope to be able to share my skills in the kitchen, and to learn from the carers too.”

Trafford Carers Centre is an independent registered charity that offers support to unpaid carers.

Alex says that everybody benefits from healthy cookery – carers and those they care for.

“Caring, either as a paid professional or as a family carer, can be very demanding,” he says. “It is not only important the cared person eats well, but also the carer.”

Alex will deliver the courses for Trafford Carers Centre, having previously delivered successful courses for Bolton Carers and St Helens Carers (where he demonstrated how to make mushroom and chickpea curry, and root vegetable tagine).

Trafford Carers offers a range of services to support carers. Contact the organisation at: www.traffordcarerscentre.org.uk/contact-us/
